Best Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Mods

Enhance XCX:DE With Great Mods

It’s been a good while since Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition dropped on Switch and there has been fair amount of people already working on some mods for the emulators. In case you are new to this stuff, I recommend checking out our guide for Installing Mods on Switch Emulators.

Some of the mods listed here were made for the first patch of the game, which is 1.0.1 and there has been update or two after that – depending what Xenoblade Chronicles X version you may have will have impact on whatever those mods will actually work, so choose carefully. Majority of the mods here are tested with Citron and Yuzu, there are obviously some exclusives that are made for Ryujinx exclusively too – also all of these are for Switch not for CEMU Wii U version.

60 FPS Mod & 30 FPS Mod

Probably most essential mod I really recommend for this game is the FPS Mod that comes with two different variations. One version is 60 FPS permanently everywhere in the game and other is 60 FPS + 30 FPS Cutscenes, which is there to give more that cinematic feel to this game – but honestly I think the cutscenes and cinematics do look decent in 60 FPS as well.

Level Of Detail + Widescreen Mod

Now if you are playing on a very wide monitor you might want to consider getting a widescreen mod like this, it doesn’t look too good on your average 16:9 monitor settings, but i’m sure there might a niche audience who are preferring to play this game on this type of a setting. Level of detail does some changes on how the game looks, this can be quite miniscule but its something that lot of people who are nit-picky will care about.

Loot Mods

Equipment systems in this game aren’t the most to hassle around with especially when it comes to loots that you get from battles too. This mods help organizing your stuff better and makes auto-equipping more convenient too, perhaps a mod best for people who have better grasp about this games systems.

LootEquipmentsBestQuality : force primordial equipment with 3 augments (and only 1 free slot as the game does not seem to allow cheat equipment with 3 augments and 3 free slots)

LootEquipmentsForceCount : force 3 equipments looted per treasure

LootEquipmentsForceType : force type of equipment (ground weapon or Armor) and subtype

LootEquipmentsIgnoreBroken : remove broken equipment

LootTreasureQuality : force gold treasure

Moon Jump

Another mod that makes exploration lot more better and fun early game is the Moon Jump, there are two people who have made versions out of the Moon Jump but in this case we are going to link down StevensND version as that’s the one we were testing. This can be also enabled via cheat engine too

Cheat Engine

One of the best ways to do small quality of life changes to the game or any game really is the Cheat Engine that basically edits Hex code in the game, that allows you to change number values in the game. This has multi purpose usage so you can change your characters health to Infinite HP, Max Money, Max Class experience, changing Miranium amount and many other things you can really think off when it comes to numbers.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Mods in Action

If you want to see lot of the mods in action you can watch our review of the game in above, we also do have another video feature which we had to upload to Rumble due to Nintendo not allowing us to post mod related content on YouTube regarding Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition X (Yeah censorship sucks). As more time goes on there probably might be more mods dropping out that will perhaps do lot more drastic overhauls and changes.
